Courses Taught
  • Youth Firearm Safety Course (No Charge)   One parent must accompany the child at all classrom / range sessions.     CALL OUR OFFICE FOR CLASS TIMES AS THE SCHEDULE CHANGES.  The number of students is limited to 10.  Class is one hour.   Although the firearms course and range time is free, we do ask for $10 for the NRA study booklet and certificates of completion.

Firearms Courses for Adults (aged 18 & over) are taught as "private" courses.
We no longer instruct on a group basis.
We have learned that a 10 hour privately instructed course renders to the student as much information and drill excercise as a 30-40 hour group course.

Call our corportate office to register.

  • Basic Pistol
  • Tactical Pistol
  • Basic Rifle
  • Basic Shotgun
  • Tactical Shotgun
  • Mountain Lion Defense
  • Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) required for handgun purchase.

Attention:

My certification as a Utah Concealed Carry Weapons Instructor was revoked on 28 December 2007.  This action was taken against me because I was using our video production to teach the Utah Concealed Carry Weapons Course.

Our original production was sanctioned by the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification (Utah BCI) on 27 December 2003.  However, since then two acts by the Utah authorities were passed causing more stringent rules for the issuance of the Utah Concealed Carry Weapons permit.

Consequently, during this past year I have made a serious error in assuming that I was in compliance since the time the second act was passed by the Utah authorities.  This error is 100% my fault.  I blame no one.

As a result,  a significant number of my customers have not received their concealed carry weapons (ccw) permits.

However, I have an appointment on 24 January 2008 before the Utah BCI appeals board to request my reinstatement as a certified Utah Firearms Instructor.  It should be understood that my reinstatement is not guaranteed.

There are many of you out there who placed your trust & confidence in me by paying me your hard earned money with the understading that my course was valid.  It is now necessary for me to make these good customers whole.

  •  If my reisntatement is successful, I will have to follow the terms & conditions set forth by the Utah BCI.  At that time, each customer will be notified personally by me to discuss his/her specific application.
  • If my reinstatement is not successful, my customers will have two choices:
1. a full refund of money paid. or
2. coordination with another certified Utah Firearms Instructor who will accept the paperwork I have already processed ( fingerprint card, passport photo, notarized application, color copy of the driver's license) in order to satisfy the legal submission of the application to the Utah BCI.

As you can imagine, the options listed above will cost me thousands of dollars regardless as to the outcome of my appeal.  But this cost is irrelevant and must be sustained in order to satisfy the good people who trusted me.

I ask for the forgiveness of those whose CCW permit applications I have jeopardized.

Most sincerely,

Richard A. Stefani

 Revocation Update
February 1, 2008

My revocation as a Certified Utah Firearms Instructor is being upheld.  Although I disagree with the outcome of their decision, I can only go forward and persevere.

I will be calling each and every one of the 73 customers whose applications have been affected by these chain of events.  And I will discuss their needs on a case by case basis.  One solution is to replace the Utah CCW application with an application to the State of Florida.  Both are valid in 28 states.  However, the Utah Non-Resident permit is not valid in Florida.  So, in one very real sense the Florida CCW is more valuable.  Both states' permits are valid in the State of Nevada.  For a complete list of states in which the Florida CCW permit is valid, check on the link provided: http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/weapons/index.html

Update
August 20, 2008

This year has been very difficult for all of those who trusted me with their money.  Many have had their patience tried.  I have submitted refunds to many.  I have moved a number of clients to get the Florida CCW in order to replace the Utah CCW.

The fact that I've had to refund so much money has prohibited my ability to pay the application fees for those who are still hanging in there with me.

I have some good news.  Lt. Doug Anderson of the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) has acknowledged that they WILL ACCEPT ALL APPLICATIONS PROCESSED PRIOR TO MY REVOCATION (Nov. 28, 2007), provided that I submit evidence that all instruction was completed prior to the revocation date.  I do have proof of when each and every student completed their course.  Upon successful review of the application and the evidence provided, Utah BCI will issue the CCW permit.

This news is most welcome for all involved.  I thank you all of my customers for their patience with me this past year.  For those of you who have been disappointed by the chain of events, I offer you most sincere apology.

Respectfully,

Richard A. Stefani
